This section was formed in 1969/70. the first lecturer was professor Stefanin Brcic from Dubrovnik, who worked in the school until 1977, when Oleg Balasev Samarski took over the class. In that period there was a great interest in guitar which becomes a very popular instrument and students from the class of O.B. Samarski achieved a great success at competitions in former Yougoslavia.

Continuity of existence and work of this department was interrupted in 1992 by leaving of O. B. Samarski, and section did not exist for 4 years.

In 1996 the section started to work again since a teacher Vanja Savic came and stayed until 2003.

Another class was formed in 2000/01 school year run by professor Danica kurtovic, ex-student of the school.
